Mae Orm, Pinedale
Mae Orm is a local Pinedale artist and the owner/operator of Pinedale Art & Crafts. She enjoys a variety of art media but her favorites include painting and ceramics. Her love of the Wyoming landscape here in Pinedale is her main inspiration for her work. Her body of work titled “Line of Direction” in 2018 launched her brightly colored, recognizable style of landscapes. Her work has been on display in many galleries and shows throughout the state and was awarded 2nd place at the Lynn Thomas Memorial Art Show in 2018 & 2019. She has a mural displaying her style and vibrant colors on the side of the Tegeler Building in Pinedale, WY.
Mae offers educational art classes to after-school youth every week and is the instructor for local seniors that attend the “Here & Now” Cognitive Care Program offered by Pinedale Fine Arts Counsel each month. She also offers educational adult art events at the store along with glaze your own pottery.
Mae was selected in 2017 as Wyoming’s 40 under 40 by Wyoming Business Report for her contribution to Wyoming economy. Pinedale Art & Crafts celebrated 4 years in business this February.
Mae’s upcoming solo show this November will include art for a children's book about shooting stars. She is the author and illustrator. The idea for the book was inspired by her youngest son’s fun imagination.
Mae enjoys spending time with her family, her husband Erric and two boys Mason and Nolan. She loves to go backpacking & fishing in the Winds, which is where she gets a lot of her artistic inspiration. She also enjoys being involved in the Pinedale Theatre Company productions. She played “Mrs. Bedwin & Ensemble” in the 2017 production of “Oliver” and was an Ensemble in the 2019 production of “Beauty and the Beast”.
