Dragonfly Lady Jewelry

Primary medium: jewelry

I have been designing jewelry since I was about 10 years old when we lived in Silver City, New Mexico. I was inspired by the Culture, the beauty and the Art of New Mexico. When I was 12 we moved to Sheridan, Wyoming. We live in the valley below the Big Horn Mountains which has its own beauty and story to tell. I am very curious and have taught myself some different techniques in Jewelry design and metalsmithing. I graduated from Sheridan College with an Associate’s Degree in Fine Art in 1992. In 2014, I decided to leave Government service (Department of Veterans Affairs) after being diagnosed with Non-Hopkins Lymphoma. I started my own jewelry business while I was going through Radiation and Chemotherapy. My studio is located in my home in Sheridan (one of the bedrooms). Currently, I sell my wearable art at The Gallery on Main in Dayton, Wyoming and The In Color Gallery and Design in Buffalo, Wyoming. I am also on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest. My work has been in 3 different juried shows at the Sheridan College, Wildlife Show at the Gallery on Main, Antelope Butte Show in Greybull, Dragonflies and Damsel show in New Jersey and various other venues around the country. I've learned the most from blood, sweat and tears. I believe in working hard and self-sufficiency. It's in the struggle that we find our strength.
